EPA Receives More Pesticide Residue Petitions for Review

Summary

This document announces the Agency's receipt of and solicits public comment on initial filings of pesticide petitions requesting the establishment or modification of regulations for residues of pesticide chemicals in or on various commodities. The Agency is providing this notice in accordance with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA). EPA uses the month and year in the title to identify when the Agency compiled the petitions identified in this notice of filing. Unit II. of this document identifies certain petitions received in 2025 and 2026 that are currently being evaluated by EPA, along with information about each petition, including who submitted the petition and the requested action.

Public comment period opened

EPA is asking the public to comment on newly filed pesticide petitions that seek to set or change residue limits on food. Comments must be received on or before September 16, 2026 and must be submitted online at https://www.regulations.gov using the docket ID and petition number listed in Unit II.

Indoxacarb tolerance petition filed

Petition PP 5F9204 (EPA-HQ-OPP-2025-3061) requests amending tolerances for the insecticide indoxacarb on animal commodities: milk at 0.50 ppm; cattle, fat at 1.9 ppm; cattle, meat at 0.11 ppm; and cattle, byproducts at 0.08 ppm. EPA states it has not completed its evaluation and will consider public comments before deciding whether and how to act.

Glufosinate-P-ammonium tolerances requested

Petition PP 5F9167 (EPA-HQ-OPP-2025-3060) requests establishment of tolerances for glufosinate-P-ammonium and its metabolites on many commodities, including blueberry 0.15 ppm; raspberry 0.15 ppm; milk 0.15 ppm; corn, field, grain 0.2 ppm; cotton seed subgroup 20C 15 ppm; soybean seed 2 ppm; wheat straw 0.4 ppm (and numerous other commodities and indirect residues listed in Unit II). An analytical method was submitted and EPA will accept comments before evaluation.

Topramezone tolerance request for rapeseed

Petition PP 5F9194 (EPA-HQ-OPP-2025-3291) requests a tolerance for the herbicide topramezone (including metabolite M670H05) on rapeseed subgroup 20A at 0.01 ppm. EPA notes an analytical method (LC-MS/MS) is available and will consider public comments as part of its evaluation.

Florylpicoxamid tolerances on many crops

Petition PP 6F9235 (EPA-HQ-OPP-2026-3169) requests tolerances for the fungicide florylpicoxamid on a wide range of commodities — for example: almond hulls 15 ppm; apple, wet pomace 2 ppm; avocado 0.5 ppm; barley, bran 0.20 ppm; wheat, hay 4.0 ppm; vegetable, leafy, group 4-16 at 40 ppm; and many additional commodities and livestock products listed in Unit II. A validated multi-residue analytical method was submitted for measurement.
