Notice

Summary

The Department of the Treasury, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing information collections, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. Currently the Bureau of the Fiscal Service within the Department of the Treasury is soliciting comments concerning the Annual Financial Statement of Surety Companies-Schedule F.

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

Surety Companies Must File Schedule F

If you are a surety company or other for-profit business recognized by the Treasury, you must continue to file the Annual Financial Statement—Schedule F using FS Form 6314 (OMB No. 1530-0008). The agency estimates 317 respondents will spend between 1 and 40 hours each preparing the form, for a total annual burden of 6,499 hours; written comments are due by October 16, 2026.

Treasury Uses Schedule F To Check Solvency

The Schedule F data (FS Form 6314) is used to compute unauthorized reinsurance for Treasury-approved admitted reinsurers. That computation helps the Treasury check the solvency of companies it recognizes to write Federal surety bonds and their ability to meet contractual requirements.
