Keep Press Inspection and Certification Records

If you own or run a business that uses mechanical power presses, you must establish and follow an inspection program and conduct regular, periodic inspections for each press under 29 CFR 1910.217(e)(1). You are also required to maintain records of certification and inspection activities for those presses.

Paperwork Burden Approval Will Be Extended

OSHA is asking OMB to extend approval of the Mechanical Power Presses information collection and seeks to maintain the currently approved total burden of 20,807 hours. OSHA estimates 104,035 respondents, 62,421 responses, a monthly response frequency, an average time per response of 20 minutes, and estimated operation and maintenance cost of $0; comments are due October 19, 2026.
