Cboe C2 Free Trials Stuck in 2022 Time Warp

Published Date: 8/20/2026

Notice

Summary

Cboe C2 Exchange is changing its free trial offer for certain market data. Instead of letting users pick any six months of past data, everyone will get the same fixed six-month period from July to December 2022. This update starts right away and helps keep things simple for traders and data users.

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Free Trial Fixed to July–Dec 2022

If you request a free trial of Cboe C2's Open-Close Data (End-of-Day, Ten-Minute Intraday, or One-Minute Intraday), you will receive the same fixed six-month historical dataset covering July 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022 rather than being able to pick any six-month window. This change took effect when the Exchange filed the rule change on August 7, 2026 and applies to all requesting participants.

No Change to Data Product Fees

The Exchange expressly states that the proposal does not change the fees assessed for the underlying Open-Close Data products; the free sample remains free and only the mechanism for selecting the six-month sample is standardized. The filing was submitted on August 7, 2026 and the fee schedules for paid subscriptions are unchanged by this rule change.
