One-year dive physical required
If you want to dive as a guest at NASA Johnson Space Center's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory, you must present a dive physical that was completed within one year for review by the NBL Dive Physician before participating in diving activities.
Certified examiner and form required
If you do not already have a current U.S. Navy, Association of Diving Contractors (ADC), or current British standard commercial diving physical, you must complete a medical examination performed by a certified Diving Medical Examiner. The results must be documented on JSC Form 1830 "Report of Medical Examination" and submitted for review before you may dive in the NBL.
Medical exam costs vary by insurance
If you must obtain the required diving medical exam, the associated cost will vary and is typically determined by your insurance—guest divers may incur out-of-pocket expenses depending on their coverage.
