The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has submitted an information collection request (ICR), Standardized Permit for RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Facilities (EPA ICR No. 1935.08, OMB Control No. 2050-0182) to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review and approval in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act. This is a proposed extension of the ICR, which is currently approved through August 31, 2026. Public comments were previously requested via the Federal Register on January 9, 2026, during a 60-day comment period. This notice allows for an additional 30 days for public comments.

Who Can Use a RCRA Standardized Permit
If your business generates hazardous waste and routinely manages it on-site in non-thermal units (for example, tanks, containers, or containment buildings), you can use the RCRA "standardized permit." The permit is also available to facilities that receive hazardous waste from an off-site generator under the same ownership and then store or non-thermally treat it in containers, tanks, or containment buildings. Owners and operators must follow both the national "uniform" portion and any site-specific "supplemental" portion that the regulatory director adds, including terms needed for corrective action under Sec. 264.101 or to protect health and the environment.

EPA estimates the paperwork burden for this information collection is 22 hours per year and the total estimated cost is $185 per year, which includes $53 in annualized capital or operation & maintenance costs.
