PHAs must publish admission policies

Public housing agencies (PHAs) must maintain and provide written admission and continued-occupancy policies on request to the public and to HUD. These policies must include eligibility, local preferences, and rent determination and remain available for inspection or FOIA requests.

HOTMA over-income policy reporting

PHAs must update written policies to address "over-income families," defined as households with annual incomes at least 120 percent of area median income (AMI) for two consecutive years. PHAs also must provide annual reports on the number of over-income families in public housing and the number of families on public housing waiting lists.

HUD estimates the revised information collection covers 2,667 active PHAs (changed from 2,774), with one response per PHA requiring 24 burden hours per response, for a total annual burden of 64,008 hours. HUD estimates an hourly cost of $28.65 and an annual cost of $1,833,829 for the collection.
