VEAP Contribution Refund Timing
If you are an eligible VEAP participant who entered service after December 31, 1976 and before July 1, 1985 and are pursuing training under chapter 32, you may get a refund of the contributions you paid. If you stop enrollment before discharge or release from active duty, your contributions will be refunded on your discharge or release date or within 60 days of the Secretary receiving notice of your discharge. If you stop enrollment after discharge or release, your contributions will be refunded within 60 days of the VA receiving your application (VA Form 22-5281).
