Published Date: 9/15/2026

Notice

Summary

Cboe BYX Exchange is adding a new order option called “Regular til Post Market” that lets traders keep their orders active through the regular trading day and into the post-market session. This change affects anyone trading stocks on BYX and starts right away, making trading more flexible without extra costs. It’s a smart move to help traders catch more opportunities beyond regular hours!

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

New “Regular til Post Market” order

If you trade on Cboe BYX, you can use a new Time-in-Force called “Regular til Post Market” (RTP). An RTP limit order is eligible for execution during Regular Trading Hours (9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Eastern Time) and, if not fully executed, remains active during the After Hours Trading Session (4:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Eastern Time) and then expires at the end of the After Hours Trading Session.

RTP allowed in Opening/Re-Opening

Users may enter RTP orders prior to the start of Regular Trading Hours to participate in the Exchange Opening Process, and RTP orders will be treated consistently with Regular Hours Only (RHO) orders for Opening and Re-Opening participation. Existing restrictions that apply to RHO orders (for example, BYX Post Only Orders, ISOs, and Minimum Quantity Orders being excluded from the Opening Process) will also apply to RTP orders.

Minimum Quantity + RTP blocked before 7:00 a.m.

The Exchange will not accept Minimum Quantity Orders that include the RTP Time-in-Force prior to 7:00 a.m. Eastern Time. This mirrors an existing restriction that applies to Regular Hours Only orders.
