Notice

Summary

NYSE Arca is updating its fees for retail stock trades starting now! They’re bringing back a special discount for some retail orders that trade with each other and won’t charge fees on certain special retail orders that add liquidity. If you trade retail stocks on NYSE Arca, these changes could save you money right away.

Analyzed Economic Effects

4 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 3 costs, 0 mixed.

$0.0025 Removal Fee After Monthly Thresholds

For Retail Orders with a time‑in‑force of Day that remove liquidity, NYSE Arca charges $0.0025 per share under certain Retail Tiers once monthly thresholds are exceeded. For Tier 1 and Tier 2 the first 170 million shares (or 0.055% of Dollar Plus Consolidated Volume, up to 250 million shares, whichever is higher) are not charged; beyond that the $0.0025 per share fee applies.

Reinsert 'Day' Time‑in‑Force for Retail No‑Fee Trades

Starting September 1, 2026, NYSE Arca will require Retail Orders to have a time‑in‑force of "Day" for the rule that two Retail Orders that share the same MPID are not charged a fee or provided a credit. The rule change reinstates the "time‑in‑force of Day" modifier for that no‑fee condition.

MPL and DPO Retail Orders Pay Standard Fees

NYSE Arca will exclude Mid-Point Liquidity (MPL) Orders and Discretionary Pegged Orders (DPO) submitted with a retail modifier from Retail Tier pricing. MPL orders removing liquidity will be charged $0.010 per share and DPO orders removing liquidity will be charged $0.030 per share under standard rates.

Retail Tier Adding Credits Remain Unchanged

NYSE Arca will keep its existing per‑share credits for Retail Orders that add liquidity: $0.0038 (Retail Tier 1), $0.0037 (Tier 2), $0.0036 (Tier 3), $0.0034 (Tier 4), and $0.0035 (Tiers 5 and 6) for round and odd lots with per‑share price $1.00 or above.
