Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Single Order Spans Regular and Post-Close

The EDGX Exchange added a new Time-in-Force called "Regular `til Post Market" (RTP) that lets you submit a single limit order eligible to execute during Regular Trading Hours (9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET) and, if not fully filled, remain active into the Post-Closing Session (4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET). Any unexecuted portion of an RTP order expires at the end of the Post-Closing Session. The RTP TIF will be available across multiple order types (e.g., Limit, Intermarket Sweep Orders, MidPoint Peg, Market Maker Peg, Supplemental Peg, and MidPoint Discretionary) and the rule was made operative upon filing on September 9, 2026; the Exchange will announce the exact implementation date in early Q4 2026 via Trade Desk Notice.

Minimum-Quantity RTP Orders Blocked Pre-Start

EDGX will not accept orders that include a Minimum Execution Quantity instruction together with a Time-in-Force of RTP prior to 4:00 a.m. Eastern Time (or prior to 7:00 a.m. Eastern Time for orders eligible for a 7:00 a.m. Start). This restriction treats RTP like the existing Regular Hours Only (RHO) TIF and prevents those combined orders from being entered into the System before the applicable trading sessions begin.
