Temporary No-Entry Zone on Patapsco River
If you operate a boat or are on the water near Sparrows Point and Bear Creek, you may not enter the Patapsco River area within 1,000 yards of those locations on October 6, 2026 between 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Entry of vessels or persons into that security zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port or a designated representative.
Authorization Required; How to Request Entry
You can only enter the security zone if you get permission from the Captain of the Port (COTP) or the COTP's designated representative. To request permission, contact the COTP or representative on VHF-FM channel 16 or by telephone at (410) 576-2693, and anyone in the zone must follow lawful orders from enforcement officers.
