Four Exchanges, One Very Specific Report About Missed Liquidity

Published Date: 11/4/2026

Notice

Summary

Cboe Exchange is upgrading its Missed Liquidity Report, part of the Cboe Timestamping Service, to give traders clearer and faster info about missed trading opportunities. This change helps traders better understand when their orders didn’t get filled, improving their market strategies. The new features are effective immediately, with no extra cost, making it a win for active traders and market pros.

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Missed Liquidity Report adds Auction data

If you are a Cboe Member who subscribes to the Missed Liquidity Report, it will now include Complex Order Auction (COA) and Complex Automated Improvement Mechanism (C-AIM) events and a new price field. The report will show each price level at which options orders were executed during an Auction and the subscribing Member's own order/modify/quote prices, and it applies the same timing windows (not to exceed 1 millisecond after and 100 microseconds before the first attempt to execute) and will be provided on a T+1 historical basis.

Report remains historical and recipient-only

The enhanced Missed Liquidity Report will continue to be a historical product delivered generally on a T+1 basis and will not provide real-time market data. The report contains only the Recipient Member's own data (other Members' information is anonymized and no other Member's specific resting order information will be provided), so subscribing Members will not gain a real-time informational advantage over other market participants.

Enhancement is optional and fee status noted

The Missed Liquidity Report (with the new Auction fields) is an optional product available to any Member that chooses to subscribe; fees for reports are assessed based on the number of reports selected. The Exchange states that at this time it is not proposing any fee increases for the Cboe Timestamping Service, but also plans a separate filing to propose fees for the Missed Liquidity Report and Cancels Report and will announce an implementation date by Exchange Notice no later than 60 days after the operative date of the filing.
