Summary

This bill would create a process to obtain and install a statue honoring Roberto Clemente Walker in the U.S. Capitol or on the Capitol Grounds. The Joint Committee on the Library would have up to two years to arrange acquisition and to pick an artist, with required outreach to the Puerto Rican community and other underrepresented groups. The Architect of the Capitol would place the statue in an appropriate location under the committee's direction, and the committee may accept donations if the law allows. *Authorizes up to $500,000 to be transferred from the Capitol Preservation Fund to obtain and install the statue.*
