More training for homebuilding careers
If enacted, the Labor Department would award competitive grants to community colleges, career schools, and approved training providers. The funds would expand training for homebuilding trades, plus outreach to K–12 students and partnerships with local builders. Programs could offer night, part‑time, or online classes, and provide job search help and some scholarships. Grants could last up to 4 years, with priority for rural and underserved communities. The bill would authorize $20 million per year for FY2026–FY2030, and grantees must follow labor laws and report results.
