SSI relief for married adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities

If enacted, adults 18+ with an intellectual or developmental disability could qualify under a new SSI category. You would need to meet the usual SSI income and resource limits after standard exclusions. Your monthly payment would use the single-person SSI rate, reduced only by your own countable income. If you are married, your spouse’s income and resources would not be counted. The changes would take effect upon enactment.
