Small grants for local water projects
This bill would let the government move leftover infrastructure funds to help local water projects. It would make up to $3 million each year available from 2026 through 2031. The money would support groundwater recharge, aquifer storage, and water source substitution. States, Tribes, local water agencies, small water providers, and other project sponsors could get technical or financial help. The funds would come only from leftover amounts in an existing program under the 2021 infrastructure law, up to $18 million total if fully used.
