Alzheimer's training grants for underserved providers

This bill would expand Project ECHO-style grants to train providers on Alzheimer's care. HHS would award one or more grants within one year of enactment to test and expand these tech-based training models. The focus would be primary care professionals serving rural, frontier, shortage, or medically underserved areas and populations, including Native Americans, plus public or nonprofit groups that can run Alzheimer’s ECHO programs. Grantees would measure results, add to (not replace) other funds, and report; HHS would post an updated report within four years. It would authorize $10 million each year for FY 2022 through 2032 for other Project ECHO work, and $1 million each year for FY 2027 through 2032 for the Alzheimer’s grants. These are authorizations; Congress would still need to provide the money.
