Summary

Creates a commemorative Congressional time capsule to mark the United States' semiquincentennial. It would direct the Architect of the Capitol to prepare, seal, and bury the capsule on the Capitol west lawn by July 4, 2026 and install an informational plaque, require the Speaker, House Minority Leader, Senate Majority Leader, and Senate Minority Leader to jointly select contents that include representative books and memorabilia related to the semiquincentennial, copies or representations of key congressional milestones up to burial, and a message from Congress to the future Congress, allow consultation with the Architect and the Smithsonian, and keep the capsule sealed until July 4, 2276 when the Speaker would present it to the 244th Congress.
