More partners to collect seeds and grow seedlings

If enacted, the Forest Service would be able to fund or contract work to collect native seeds and grow seedlings for revegetation. Eligible partners would include state forestry agencies, tribes, colleges and universities, nonprofits, local private groups, and multistate coalitions. The bill would also let colleges and universities join the Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Program. That program’s agreements would clearly cover seed collection, seed maintenance, and seedling production, including material from managed seed orchards. Changes would take effect upon enactment.
