More visas for nurses and doctors

If enacted, this would recapture unused visas from 1992–2024 and make up to 40,000 more employment-based visas available: 25,000 for nurses and 15,000 for physicians. Petitions would need to be filed within three years after enactment. Family members could get visas from the same pool and would not count against the 25,000 and 15,000 set-asides. These visas would not be subject to per-country caps and would be issued by priority date, but only when a regular visa is not already available. USCIS and State would expedite these cases and could not charge a premium processing fee, and for nurse visas the employer would have to attest the hire has not and will not displace a U.S. worker.
