Up to 99-year leases on tribal land
If enacted, land held in trust for any federally recognized tribe on the Interior Department's list would be eligible for leases up to 99 years. This would extend the current long-term leasing authority beyond the Chehalis Reservation to those tribes. Tribal governments would be able to make longer deals with people or businesses. Households and businesses would be able to secure long-term use of that land. The bill would not create new programs or funding; it only expands which trust lands qualify.
