More benefits for Filipino veterans and Scouts
If enacted, veterans who served in the forces of the Philippines or the Philippine Scouts would gain access to benefits under two more VA sections. VA would also consider other service records you provide, not only the recognized guerrilla rosters at the National Personnel Records Center. A limit from the 2009 Recovery Act (section 1002(h)) would no longer apply to this group. These changes would start 270 days after enactment.
Filipino veterans: wait 270 days, no back pay
If enacted, the new benefits would not start right away. They would begin 270 days after the bill is signed. No benefits would be paid for any time before that date.
