CBO Oversight Act

Annual CBO testimony would require the Director of the Congressional Budget Office to appear for regular oversight before congressional Budget Committees. At a Budget Committee chair's request in either chamber, the Director would testify at two hearings at each such Committee by the end of the calendar year. Those hearings could cover any topics the Committees choose, including reviews of CBO baseline projections and the office's most recent fiscal-year estimates. The bill also updates the Budget Act's table of contents to add the new section and would not authorize new appropriations or additional funding.
