More federal help for energy emergencies
This bill would add a new energy emergency and energy security function to the Department of Energy. The Secretary would handle planning, cybersecurity, supply, resilience, coordination, response, and restoration. DOE would be allowed to give technical help to States, local governments, Tribes, or energy companies when requested. The Secretary would have to coordinate these duties with other federal agencies.
