Study to expand Lewis and Clark water

This bill would require the Interior Secretary to study a proposed project to expand the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System in Iowa, Minnesota, and South Dakota. The study would be done with the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System, Inc., or a nonprofit successor. Congress could appropriate $10,000,000 for the study and the federal share of study costs would not exceed 50 percent. If the study recommends construction, local partners would pay at least 25 percent of construction costs based on their ability to pay. The study authority would expire 10 years after enactment.
