North America travel group to boost jobs

If enacted, the bill would define North America as the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It would direct the U.S. Trade Representative to push for a Travel and Tourism Trade Working Group during the first USMCA joint review. This requirement would be subject to section 611 of the USMCA Implementation Act (19 U.S.C. 4611). The bill would create a Working Group co‑chaired by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. U.S. members would include USTR, Commerce, State, Homeland Security, Interior, Labor, and Transportation. The President could name other agencies to join. The Working Group would meet at least once a year. It would seek advice from travel industry groups, including the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board. The group would work to boost North American travel competitiveness, increase travel services exports, and support jobs and economic growth. U.S. members would regularly brief and consult four congressional committees named in the bill: Senate Finance; Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation; House Ways and Means; and House Energy and Commerce.
