More rural grants for small businesses
If enacted, this bill would reauthorize and redesign the RISE grant program. It would authorize $50,000,000 for each fiscal year from 2026 through 2030 to fund grants. The Secretary would run the grant program, pick projects, and require concurrence from the State rural development office. The program would emphasize towns under 20,000 people and would set aside at least 10% of each year’s grants for places with fewer than 10,000 people. The bill would focus grants on activities that benefit industries in the partnership’s area and require the Secretary to select diverse local industry bases.
