Free Lp(a) and ApoB tests for eligible people

If enacted, private group and individual health plans, Medicare, and Medicaid would be required to cover tests for lipoprotein(a) and apolipoprotein B without cost sharing for eligible people. You would get these tests with no out-of-pocket cost if you have a family history of early heart disease, a past heart attack or stroke, high LDL cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, or other recognized heart-risk factors. For private plans this would apply to plan years beginning 180 days after enactment. For Medicare and Medicaid the rule would apply to tests furnished on or after that same date.
