Summary

More credit relief for student borrowers
If enacted, this bill would change how certain federal student loan defaults appear on credit reports. For loans covered by Section 428F(a)(1)(C), it would require removing any adverse information related to the defaulted loan instead of only removing the record of default. This change would take effect upon enactment. If your covered federal loan has defaulted, you could see more negative entries about that loan removed from your credit report.
