Ban on DEI requirements for federal employees
If enacted, federal agencies would be barred from using Federal funds to require diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training for appointment to or continued employment in the civil service. Civil service is defined by 5 U.S.C. 2101. The bill would also bar requiring applicants or employees to sign or endorse DEI-centered statements. It would stop agencies from spending Federal money to develop, buy, or run trainings that teach DEI ideas, critical race or gender theory, intersectionality, sexual orientation or gender identity concepts, or claims that a protected group is inherently superior or inferior. These rules would take effect upon enactment and would not apply to normal hiring steps that prevent sexual harassment.
