More Alaska fishing and subsistence voices
This bill would require the five voting members of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council appointed from Alaska to include at least one person from each of four groups: non-industrial commercial fishing, recreational fishing, rural subsistence users, and urban subsistence users. For each candidate list the Governor of Alaska submits, the Governor would indicate whether each person represents one of those four groups. The bill would add definitions for those terms. The appointments and definitions would apply to appointments made one year after enactment.
