Emergency crop aid for Florida farms

If enacted, the bill would set aside $3.5 billion for crop-loss aid for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2027. The Office of the Secretary at USDA would give the money as block grants to States after a State agriculture agency asks for it. States would use the funds to compensate producers for lost revenue, reduced quality, or lost production of crops, trees, bushes, and vines, including prevented planting and multi-year crops. Funds would be available only for losses in counties the Secretary designated as freeze disaster areas on March 4, 2026, and would remain available until expended. The Secretary would have to report to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees within 120 days and then every fiscal quarter until the funds are spent.
