Introduced
Summary
Expands AMBER Alert eligibility to include all missing youth and other high‑risk missing persons. The bill would amend the PROTECT Act to authorize issuance and dissemination of alerts through the AMBER Alert communications network for (A) individuals under 18 and (B) individuals whom law enforcement reasonably believes are high‑risk missing persons. This change broadens the set of people who can trigger an AMBER Alert while using existing AMBER Alert procedures and definitions.

More AMBER alerts for missing people
This bill would let AMBER Alerts be sent for any missing person under age 18. It would also let law enforcement request alerts for adults they reasonably believe are high-risk. Alerts would use the AMBER Alert Communication Network and would take effect upon enactment. This would increase public notifications to help find missing people.
