20-day extension for intelligence agencies
This bill would delay the repeal date for Title VII surveillance authorities. It would replace "June 12, 2026" with "July 2, 2026" in two statutory notes (50 U.S.C. 1881 note and 18 U.S.C. 2511 note). If enacted, those authorities would remain in effect through July 2, 2026. The amendment would take effect on the earlier of the date of enactment or June 11, 2026. Intelligence agencies would be able to continue using the cited authorities during the 20-day extension. Individuals whose communications would be covered would remain subject to those authorities during the extension.
