Tracking AI use at work
If enacted, the Bureau of Labor Statistics would be required to collect statistics on how employers and workers use artificial intelligence at work. The bill would use the AI definition in section 5002 of the National AI Initiative Act of 2020. The Bureau would have to begin collecting these AI usage statistics not later than 18 months after enactment and include AI usage alongside measures like total hours of employment. This change would add data collection and analysis and would not directly change taxes, benefits, or legal duties for individuals.
