Requires hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, laboratories, and imaging providers to post dollar prices for certain CMS‑specified “shoppable” services on facility walls. - Patients and families will see posted dollar prices for shoppable services so they can compare costs before scheduling care.
- Hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers must post the discounted cash price for CMS‑specified shoppable inpatient and outpatient services. If no discounted cash price exists they must post the median cash price charged to self‑pay patients for the previous 3 years.
- Laboratories and imaging providers must post the discounted cash price for CMS‑specified shoppable tests and imaging services. If no discounted cash price exists these providers must post the gross charge. The Secretary implements and enforces the posting requirements and picks which services and display locations apply.

Facility wall price postings for patients
This bill would require hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, clinical laboratories, and imaging providers to post prices on facility walls starting January 1, 2028. For hospitals, postings would cover services furnished in inpatient and outpatient department settings. If no discounted cash price exists, hospitals and ASCs would post the median cash price charged to self-pay individuals over the prior three years; laboratories and imaging providers would post the gross charge. The Secretary would decide which services are CMS-specified shoppable services, where on the wall notices must appear, and would enforce the rule.
