Broadband plan for assisted housing
If enacted, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development would develop a plan to retrofit federally assisted housing. The plan would make buildings able to support broadband service and would guide future retrofits. HUD would consult the Comptroller General and other Federal agency heads and submit the plan to Congress within 18 months of enactment. The bill would not provide funding or require HUD to carry out the retrofits; any benefits would come later if Congress or agencies fund and do the work.
