Ban AI Data Centers on Federal Land

If enacted, the bill would ban building or operating an "Artificial Intelligence Data Center" on Federal land. It would cover centers used for large-scale AI work or those with peak power above 20 megawatts, racks delivering 20 kilowatts or more, or liquid cooling. Agencies and their lessees would have to stop operations or construction within 30 days and begin removal or order removal by the lessee. Removal and cleanup would follow CERCLA and other law. Associated infrastructure like transmission lines, substations, natural gas plants and pipelines, backup generators, and water and cooling pipes would also be covered. Federal land would include land managed by the United States, including Department of Defense land, but would not include land held in trust for Indian Tribes.
