- Students: LGBTQI+ students face high rates of harassment. 58% reported verbal harassment and nearly 30% missed at least one full school day in the prior month because of safety concerns.
- Mental health: Nearly half of LGBTQI+ youth seriously considered suicide in the prior year, with Indigenous, Black, and multiracial youth showing higher rates. 90% of transgender and nonbinary youth say recent legislative debates harmed their mental health.
- Policy and schools: The resolution notes more than 200 anti-LGBTQI+ education bills are introduced annually and that 27 states enacted bans on transgender students playing school sports between 2021 and 2025. It urges states and local education agencies to adopt laws and policies that prohibit bullying and discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or sex characteristics including intersex traits.
