Summary

National Brain Tumor Awareness Month would be designated for May 2026 to raise public awareness, honor people living with or lost to brain tumors, and encourage research collaboration to develop better treatments and support patients and caregivers. The resolution highlights about 108,000 new primary brain tumor diagnoses this year, more than 1 million Americans living with a brain tumor, that brain tumors are the leading cancer cause of death for children under 14 and teens under 19, a 5-year survival for malignant brain tumors near 34.8 percent, and an estimated 18,350 deaths in 2026.
