Honoring the 80th anniversary of United States-Philippine relations.

Strengthening U.S.–Philippine relations is the central aim of this resolution. It would commemorate the 80th anniversary of U.S.–Philippine ties, note the Philippines' independence since July 4, 1946, honor Filipino and Filipino‑American servicemembers, reaffirm the U.S. commitment to invoke the Mutual Defense Treaty if Philippine assets in the Pacific were attacked, commend increased Philippine cooperation on regional security, recognize Filipino American contributions, and urge Americans to mark the anniversary with appropriate programs and activities.
