Sponsored By: Representative Green, Al [D-TX-9]

Introduced

Summary

Honoring Prince Hall's leadership in Black Freemasonry and Revolutionary-era activism. This resolution would recognize Hall for founding African Lodge No. 1 after being denied entry by a white lodge, for petitioning Massachusetts against slavery and to protect Black sailors, and for leading community plans to advance citizenship, education, and economic opportunity for African Americans. It thanks Hall for his lasting influence on roughly 5,000 lodges and 47 grand lodges that trace their roots to his original lodge.
