Summary
Would expand federal criminal coverage for interference with interstate gas and hazardous liquid pipelines. The bill would broaden 49 U.S.C. § 60123(b) so that vandalizing, tampering with, disrupting, or preventing the operation or construction of a pipeline facility is treated the same as damaging or destroying it. Those acts would carry the same criminal penalties in current law, including fines, prison terms up to 20 years, and life imprisonment if a death results.
