Rename and Study Salem Maritime Park
This bill would redesignate the Salem Maritime National Historic Site as the Salem Maritime National Historical Park. It would require the Interior Secretary to study adding nearby sites tied to maritime history, coastal defenses, and military activity. The study area would include Salem, Massachusetts, and must include the Salem Armory Visitor Center and adjacent Salem Armory Park. The Secretary would report the study results and recommendations to the House Natural Resources Committee and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee within 3 years after funds are provided to do the study.
