Deschutes Basin board and funding
This bill would reauthorize the Deschutes River Conservancy and change how it is governed. It would extend cited dates in the law to 2032. It would let the group use up to 10% for administration instead of 5%. It would set the board at 10 to 15 members. Members must be nominated by the group they represent. The bill would require 2 environmental seats, 2 irrigated agriculture seats, 2 seats for the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation of Oregon, and one each for hydroelectric, a Federal agency, an Oregon State agency (for example, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife or Oregon Water Resources Department), and a local government unit. These changes would take effect upon enactment and mainly affect people and groups in the Deschutes River Basin.
