Moab site transfer to Grand County
If enacted, Grand County, Utah would receive the federal Moab cleanup site at no cost after cleanup is complete. The transfer would be subject to safety and use limits the Energy Department or Nuclear Regulatory Commission requires. The United States would keep water rights needed for cleanup and to access wells if groundwater work continues. Grand County would be barred from selling or giving any conveyed land to private or nonprofit groups. The Energy Secretary could add other terms to protect U.S. interests.
