Summary
Adds about 6,817 acres in the Routt National Forest to the Sarvis Creek Wilderness, creating the Sarvis Creek Wilderness Addition. It would protect that mapped land under the Wilderness Act, preserve treaty rights and allow tribes access for traditional, religious, and cultural uses, and authorize the Secretary of Agriculture to carry out actions needed to control fire, insects, and disease in the addition consistent with the Wilderness Act.

If enacted, the bill would add about 6,817 acres to the Sarvis Creek Wilderness in Routt National Forest. The land is shown on a map dated February 26, 2024. If enacted, the addition would get wilderness protections that limit development and motorized use. If enacted, the Secretary could treat the Act's enactment date as the effective date for administering the addition. If enacted, the Secretary could also carry out actions to control fire, insects, and disease on the new wilderness land.
