S2273119th Congress

Wyoming Education Trust Modernization Act

Sponsored By: Senator Lummis, Cynthia M. [R-WY]

In Committee

Summary

Rewords the 1890 Wyoming Education Trust statute to replace 'interest' and 'income' with 'earnings'. This bill would update three phrases in the Act of July 10, 1890 that govern disposal of public land for Wyoming education. It would change "interest of" to "earnings on" in sections 5 and 7 and change "income thereof" to "earnings on which" in section 8. It does not add programs, fund new activities, change eligibility, or create enforcement rules. The change is limited to terminology about fund returns.
