Summary
Creates a national public safety messaging campaign to stop the illegal passing of stopped school buses. The Secretary of Transportation would, within one year, produce and distribute television ads on national broadcasts, radio spots, social media content, and other materials to educate drivers about the danger to children and others, may take steps to prevent the campaign from being limited to digital downloads or regional distribution, and may use amounts otherwise available to the Secretary for public safety messaging.

National school bus safety campaign
This bill would require the Secretary of Transportation to run a national safety campaign. It would warn about the dangers of illegally passing stopped school buses. The campaign would start not later than one year after enactment. It would use TV, national broadcast time, radio, social media, and other ads. The Secretary could use existing public safety messaging funds and must try to reach beyond downloads or only regional distribution.
